The mhTimeRange is a powerful and efficient tool designed specifically for animators using Maya. It provides a range of functionalities that allow animators to manipulate the time range based on the current frame or keys on the selected character. With its intuitive interface and seamless integration into Maya's workflow, the mhTimeRange streamlines the animation process and enhances productivity.

Start & End

With the Start & End feature, animators can easily set the start or end of the PlaybackRange based on the current frame. This enables quick adjustments to the playback range, allowing animators to focus on specific sections of their animation without affecting the entire timeline.

Frame

The Frame tool operates on the PlaybackRange and automatically identifies the first and last keys of the selected object. By utilizing these keys as the start and end frames of the PlaybackRange, animators can easily isolate and analyze specific sections of the animation. If no objects are selected, or if the first and last keys coincide with the start and end frames, the animation is reset to the AnimationRange, ensuring a seamless transition between different animation segments.

Reset

The Reset functionality restores the PlaybackRange to its original state, reverting any modifications made to the time range. This feature is particularly useful when experimenting with different playback ranges or when animators need to return to the default animation settings quickly.

Collapse

The Collapse feature allows animators to set the AnimationRange to match the PlaybackRange. This function is beneficial when refining and finalizing animations, as it ensures that the entire animation falls within a specific time range. By consolidating the AnimationRange to match the PlaybackRange, animators can easily focus on fine-tuning their work without worrying about unnecessary frames outside the desired range.
